MacBook Air 15-inch Price, Release Date, Features & Rumors: The 13-inch MacBook Air 2022 has yet to be unveiled, but rumors of a future 15-inch MacBook Air are already circulating. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman(opens in new tab), analyst Ming-Chi Kuo(opens in new tab), and display analyst Ross Young(opens in new tab) have all alluded at the possible forthcoming Apple laptop.

According to reports, the MacBook Air 15-inch will be larger than any previous MacBook Air model. The new notebook is slated to be released in the spring of 2023 and will include the Apple M2 CPU, as well as the rumored M2 Pro processor.

Everything we know about the 15-inch MacBook Air is listed below.

MacBook Air 15-inch latest rumors (June 27)

  • The 15-inch MacBook Air could be released in Spring 2023.
  • According to reports, the next laptop will be 15.2 inches in size.
  • The 15-inch MacBook Air is expected to include an M2 processor.

MacBook Air 15-inch release date and price speculation

The 15-inch MacBook Air, according to Mark Gurman (via MacRumors(opens in new tab)), will be available in the spring of 2023. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a new 15-inch MacBook should be available in the second quarter (or later) of 2023. Display analyst Ross Young expects a new MacBook will be released in 2023.

None of the current speculations indicate the price of the 15-inch MacBook Air. However, given that it is larger than the MacBook Air 2022, it should command a greater premium. The MacBook Air 2022 is currently $1,199, therefore we anticipate a price increase to $1,399 or $1,499. The MacBook Pro 14-inch starts at $1,999, while the MacBook Pro 16-inch costs $2,499.

MacBook Air 15-inch design

The 15-inch MacBook Air is likely to be a larger version of the 13.6-inch MacBook Air that will be released later this year. The next laptop is expected to be 15.2 inches in size. According to MacRumors, this would make it 0.2 inches smaller than the previous 15.4-inch Macbook Pro. Its bezels should be as tiny as those of the MacBook Air 2022.

Instead of a tapered shape, the next laptop should have flat corners and a function key row, similar to the new 13-inch Air. A 1080p webcam, better speakers, and MagSafe charging are also planned on the 15-inch notebook. However, unlike the Pros, we do not anticipate an SD card slot or an HDMI port.

Like the 13-inch MacBook Air, the 15-inch MacBook Air will most likely include a 500-nit Retina display. We don’t expect a premium mini-LED display, as that will most likely remain a MacBook Pro feature.

MacBook Air 15-inch Specifications

According to Mark Gurman’s report, the 15-inch MacBook Air will use the M2 processor, which debuted with the 2022 MacBook Pro 13-inch. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is working on a 15-inch MacBook with M2 and M2 Pro models. This 15-inch laptop could be the MacBook Air.

The MacBook Air 2022 packs an M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU. We don’t have any information about the M2 Pro’s specs.

Rumors concerning the MacBook Air 15-inch have only recently began to circulate. As a result, there isn’t a lot of data to sort through. However, given how delighted we were with the MacBook Air 2022 during our hands-on time with it at WWDC 2022, we’re intrigued by the prospect of a 15-inch version of the notebook.

Given how the M1 processor series has practically past its course, we’re not surprised to hear the MacBook Air 15-inch will use the M2 chip. Could there also be a variant with the reported M2 Pro chip? We can’t say for sure, but it’s an intriguing possibility. We’re also curious how many CPU and GPU cores the M2 processor in this MacBook Air has. It would be ideal if it came with a 10-GPU core as standard similar to the MacBook Pro 2022.
