If you haven’t played it yet, you should since it’s four times as entertaining as the original viral word game. However, it is potentially four times as tough because you only get nine guesses to discover the quartet of words. (Of course, some days Wordle is more difficult than others; in fact, today’s Wordle answer is a little more difficult.)

It, too, resets every day, so if you skip one game, you’ll have no idea what the prior daily Quordle answers were. Unless you bookmark this page, in which case you’ll be able to check today’s Quordle answers whenever you like, as I’ll be updating it every morning.

But be warned: game #211 spoilers follow, so only continue on if you want to hear today’s Quordle answers! And please don’t use this page to lie to others and pretend you got it correctly when you didn’t. That would be a waste of my efforts.

TODAY’S QUORDLE HINTS, GAME #211, TUESDAY, AUGUST 23

Before I get to today’s Quordle answers, I’ll offer you a few clues to get you started. I’ve got three initial hints for you, followed by one big reveal at the conclusion. And then, promise, I’ll tell you the answers.

So here are some starting points:

Only three vowels are used*
None of the answers contain repeated letters
Two of the answers use vowels in two positions*

* By vowel, I mean A, E, I, O, and U. Other letters, depending on how they are used, are occasionally believed to be vowels.

So, what are the solutions to today’s Quordle for game #211?

I won’t keep you waiting any longer; here it is:

CRONY
CLEAN
REGAL
HASTY

The daily Quordle solutions for game #211 are not awful. There are no repeated letters, no unusual words, and no truly uncommon letters.

You’ll still need a smart plan, because Quordle is never easy. My strategy begins by playing three prepared words to delete or confirm as many common letters as feasible.

Currently, those three words are ORATE, DINGY, and CLUBS, and they have yielded satisfactory results. Today’s outcome was much better – in fact, it was the greatest I’d ever had, with all five letters in either green or yellow for three puzzles, and four for the final one.

That effectively meant I had just three anagrams to solve and one letter to find. I started with the anagrams, and solved CRONY and CLEAN in the top half with no problems at all, due to already having a couple of green letters for each.

In the bottom left, I had four yellows and just one green, so this was slightly harder. That green A gave me enough info to find REGAL… except that I mistakenly entered LEGAL first. Whoops!

That left me with a problem. I now had one puzzle to solve and only two guesses remaining, when I should have had three at this stage. And unfortunately I needed three, because the final puzzle could be PASTY, HASTY or TASTY. The only solution was to use a random term to limit down the alternatives, even though it couldn’t be correct in and of itself. THESP was the word I chose, and it awarded me a yellow H, pointing the way to HASTY on the last guess.
