Samsung Galaxy Unpacked August 2022: What to expect
We expect the focus of today’s edition will be on foldable phones, based on what Samsung has already told us and the company’s recent history of August Unpacked presentations. Samsung is almost certain to release new versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, both of which debuted at the same Unpacked event a year ago. Other products are likely to be included as well.
Galaxy Z Fold 4: Samsung’s most expensive phone appears to be getting some notable, although not revolutionary, improvements. According to the most recent Galaxy Z Fold 4 reports, the foldable device will include a redesigned design with a smaller hinge, which should make the phone more portable and maybe more robust.
Samsung could potentially fix the Galaxy Z Fold’s most noticeable defect, a visible crease when the phone folds in half. Tipster Evan Blass has now leaked a slew of pictures of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 that reveal the phones’ various colour variants as well as their final designs. With the Galaxy Z Fold 4 set to be released in a few hours, we look at why Samsung wants to make foldables commonplace.

The Flip, like the Galaxy Z Fold 4, is expected to receive a redesigned hinge as well as a Snapdragon 8 plus Gen 1 CPU. Other reports about the Galaxy Z Flip 4 indicate to a larger cover display and improved battery life. That latter upgrade would be especially welcome given the Z Flip 3’s lack of lifespan. Galaxy Watch 5:

The Galaxy Watch 5 is expected to join the Flip and Fold as a successor to the popular Samsung product – so popular, in fact, that a Pro version of the Samsung watch could be released.
Aside from a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the top Galaxy Watch 5 speculations include the discontinuation of the watch’s rotating bezel, the addition of a built-in battery sensor, and increased battery life due to a larger power pack. It’s all part of Samsung’s plan to create a watch that can compete with the Apple Watch.
Galaxy Buds Pro 2:
Unboxing In 2021, new earphones were released, specifically the Galaxy Buds 2. It’s been roughly 18 months since the first Galaxy Buds Pro were released, so it seems like the time has come for a successor, especially with the Pixel Buds Pro now available and the AirPods Pro 2 rumoured to arrive next month.
We haven’t heard many Galaxy Buds Pro 2 speculations aside from new colour options. The wireless earbuds could be in line for a little overhaul, with features such as enhanced battery performance and support for 24-bit audio as a way for Samsung to differentiate its Pro buds.
A new Samsung Galaxy Book or tablet:
Samsung isn’t afraid to show off tablets or laptops at product debuts, though the latter usually receive their own event. Furthermore, Samsung has already been active in this area this year. So far, the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Galaxy Book 2 and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 have all been unveiled. That leaves little room for other announcements.
